- Purpose of the shoe
Not all shoes are suitable for all situations. For example, you wouldn't use our Drift Cat shoes for hiking. And generally speaking, none of our shoes are suitable for playing football! Defects resulting from improper use are not covered by the warranty . At FansBRANDS®, you'll find the following types of shoes:

- Cleaning, maintenance
Maintenance involves cleaning shoes of dirt, treating the color and upper with various agents, improving their appearance, regenerating, and preparing them for further use. Sometimes, treatment also aims to preserve or improve other characteristics of the footwear.
- Remove light soiling from leather uppers (natural grain) using a soft cloth and a soft-bristled brush, and heavier soiling using a leather eraser , both when dry. Apply a thin layer of shoe polish in the same color as the leather, possibly colorless, to the clean, dry surface and buff after a few minutes. A silicone-based self-polishing product can be used if necessary. Never clean leather shoes when wet or with water!
- Remove light soiling from coated leather uppers with a soft cloth, then treat them with a care product recommended for this material.
- Remove light dirt from suede or nubuck uppers with a soft-bristled brush. The surface can be evened out with a rubber shoe brush (pull in one direction only!). Heavier dirt can be removed with a leather eraser . It is then advisable to rub the shoe with a suede-nubuck cleaning sponge . Finally, spray the entire upper evenly with a nubuck velvet spray in the same color as the upper!
- Oily leather : clean as described for suede, maintain with oily shoe polish or grease .
- Patent leather : Remove dirt with a soft bristle brush or a slightly damp soft cloth, polish with a soft cloth after drying. You can use a patent leather cleaner , but do not use shoe polish!
- Synthetic leather : Wipe off dirt with a warm cloth dampened with clean water, dry away from radiant heat, then polish with a soft cloth! You can also use the shampoo recommended for artificial leather described in the instructions. Do not use shoe polish!
- Textiles : Use a soft-bristled brush - reserved for this purpose - to remove dust and dirt. In case of heavier soiling, it is recommended to use a special textile shampoo , following the instructions.
- Combination upper - multi-fabric : Clean and care for the fabric as recommended, taking care not to contaminate the part of the fabric not being cleaned. If the materials are very different, you can use a shampoo formulated and recommended for footwear , as described in the care instructions.
- For the care of the upper of shoes with a GORE-TEX membrane or a similar membrane, use only products recommended by the manufacturer.
- Linings : If it is necessary to clean the linings, do so according to the label and lining material, as described in upper materials.
- Soles : Clean them with a stiff brush when they are dry! If they remain dirty, you can wipe them with a damp cloth, but be careful not to dirty the upper!
- Some tips and warnings
Do not neglect the following points, as they could damage your shoes!
- The shoes we sell are not intended to be waterproof unless otherwise stated. Shoes with nubuck, suede, and textile uppers are not waterproof!
- Wear closed shoes and socks only!
- When taking off or putting on shoes, always loosen or close the fasteners (laces, Velcro, buckles, etc.), as the bark may be damaged.
- Tighten the closures so that the heel moves as little as possible in the shoe to avoid damaging the lining.
- To put on the shoe, use a shoehorn!
- After use, polish the shoe or fill the head with paper to smooth out creases!
- Dry wet shoes - whether shampooed or padded - in a ventilated area away from radiant heat.
- It's very important to change your shoes every day, if possible! Feet that don't sweat also produce sweat, which is absorbed by the lining (the flesh side of the upper skin in the case of unlined shoes). It must be able to wick it away, which means resting and airing the shoe. Otherwise, the materials will deteriorate prematurely.
- The embroidered parts are very fragile!
- Wear shoes appropriate for the weather conditions!
- If the shoe has a small defect, have it repaired immediately to avoid possible damage!

When shopping, it is particularly important to choose clothing products based on their use (sport, leisure) and the sport practiced, taking into account the requirements of the latter.
It is therefore important to carefully read the information on the labels (sewn-in labels and hang tags) before purchasing and ask us for advice.
- Labeling and composition
For clothing products, the information you need is found in two places: on the sewn-in label and on the hang tag (and, for some products, on the packaging where permitted).

The women's size guidelines listed cover the same anatomical size, based on the size guidelines of different countries. The same applies to our men's products. Our sales staff can also provide further information on this.
Built-in processing symbols:
The numbers in the washing symbol indicate the maximum permitted temperature for wet processing. The hand symbol only allows hand washing at a maximum temperature of 40°C. There are higher washing temperatures than those indicated, but the majority of our products can be washed at temperatures corresponding to those indicated above. An underscore below the symbol indicates gentle treatment, two adjacent underscores indicate very gentle treatment. A mark without an underscore but with a washing temperature indicates normal mechanical treatment.
Whitening indications:
The triangle with the symbol Cl (chlorine) indicates that chlorine bleaching is permitted.
Ironing related signals:
The permitted ironing temperature is indicated by one, two or three dots.
- One point allows an ironing temperature of 110°C, which is considered a normal ironing temperature for delicate synthetic fabrics.
- Two points allow an ironing temperature of 150°C at the soleplate.
- Three points allow an ironing temperature of 200°C.
Never play with the ironing temperature, as it is possible that due to certain finishes (e.g. heat-sensitive dyes, elastic fibers, etc.), the manufacturer specifies a lower temperature than usual to avoid damaging the material.
Instructions for dry cleaning:
- For the letter "A", all common solvents used in dry cleaning can be used.
- For the letter "P", perchloroethylene and other suitable solvents can be used.
- The letter "F" indicates the use of fluorine and gasoline.
Highlighting dry cleaning instructions means that the cleaning process is strictly limited in terms of water addition, drying temperature, and mechanical operations. Self-service laundry cleaning is not permitted in these cases.
Instructions for drying:
One dot in the symbol indicates a lower drying temperature, two dots indicate a higher drying temperature.
Important: Crossed-out symbols always indicate a prohibition, i.e. processing that is not permitted.
- User manual text
- It is advisable to wash colored products (except pastel colors) separately during the pre-wash, as this helps remove excess dye that may have spread onto the surface of the fabric without discoloring it when washed with other items.
- Linen trousers (and other similar products) with a finish that leaves marks should always be washed separately, inside out.
- However, products with reverse sides that have been washed on pile should not be washed inside out, as the short elementary fibers that escape from them may adhere to the surface of other garments washed together.
The curls of looped surface products are reduced by washing and it is therefore recommended to wash them before the first collection. - Immediately after swimming in the sea or thermal water, rinse your swimsuit under clean running water, then wash it at home with liquid detergent. Remove sunscreen with a mild detergent! Never dry your swimsuit in the sun or leave it wrapped in a towel for long periods! Concrete surfaces can damage the swimsuit fabric. Always sit or lie on a towel!
- Wash the feather bathrobe (if washable) according to the sewn-in treatment symbol! Always dry the product at room temperature, away from radiant heat, in a lying position. During drying, the product should be turned over several times and the feathers should be loosened. If the padding is dense to prevent the feather from migrating, shaking the feather may not loosen it sufficiently, in which case the feather should be gently "rubbed" into the flights. This operation may require considerable physical effort, but it will restore the coat to its original appearance.
- Always wash products with closed drawstrings or Velcro fasteners to avoid premature wear and tear and damage to other parts of the product caused by the fasteners.
- Depending on the composition of the raw material and the structure of the fabric, many sweaters can only be dried flat and in their shape to avoid any deformation. This is the case, for example, for sweaters made of pure wool or pure cotton, but it is also advisable to dry sweaters made of wool-acrylic blends this way.
- When washing wool and wool products, use only wool detergent.
- Printed designs cannot be ironed!
- Cotton-polyester blend T-shirts and sweaters naturally tend to pill. Pilling can be delayed and reduced by washing the reverse side (inside out) and ironing with a flat iron after drying.

- IMPORTANT Information

Warranty repair conditions
Repairs to products under warranty are carried out during the warranty period by the warranty service designated by the brand representative (FansBRANDS®), to which the product is sent by the brand representative. In addition to the product, please send the warranty booklet and invoice or a copy of it to the service center, as warranty repairs can only be carried out if these documents are present. What is covered by the warranty?
The manufacturer's warranty only covers the watch movement if the watch is proven to be defective. The product manufacturer will examine and decide whether the movement is actually defective or whether it was caused by misuse. Damage to the watch movement case, crystal, winding crown, or bracelet, as well as battery replacement, are not covered by the warranty. Furthermore, in the event of watch breakage, no warranty repairs will be accepted. Any watch repairs (battery replacement, bracelet repairs, etc.) must be carried out only by the designated warranty service (which, in Hungary, is always provided by FansBRANDS®); any repairs carried out elsewhere void the watch warranty.
