As expected, there was a real frenzy surrounding Lewis Hamilton's first appearance at Maranello - even though the seven-time world champion hadn't even gotten into the car yet. He will do so on Wednesday, but the fans, who are already there, are not interested; there isn't a single free room nearby.
Of course, Scuderia Ferrari also reported on this big day, giving us a detailed look at the newcomer's schedule:
“Lewis arrived this morning at our team headquarters in Maranello, where he was shown around the premises. From there, he was driven to the Fiorano circuit, where he visited Enzo Ferrari's home and met Frederic Vasseur and Benedetto Vigna in the square named after the other seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher. Here, the customary first photos were also taken, with Lewis's favorite Ferrari model, the F40.
They then visited Enzo Ferrari's home, including the famous office from which the founder observed his team's affairs. Hamilton then returned to HQ, where he met with management and, later in the day, participated in an in-depth program alongside Pietro Ferrari.
"He visited the various departments, met the team, and the seat test took place. Work will continue tomorrow with technical briefings, which will mark the beginning of real preparation for the challenging season ahead," said the Ferrari press office.
