It has been widely reported in recent days that Formula 1 is taking a step up in exhibitionism, and instead of the traditional car presentations at the start of the year, it will hold a public show in London.
We don't know about you, but seeing this makes us feel like we're not at a car race, but some other trashy experience disconnected from reality. And we're not alone... Indeed, Max Verstappen, who is heading for his fourth world title, also didn't welcome F1's new idea, and he even harshly criticized it. Granted, it wasn't during a public media appearance, but what ends up on the internet stays there...
"What the hell is this F175? What are you talking about? No, I'm not going to watch F1 then... In fact, I really hope I'm lucky enough to get sick that week," Verstappen said in a scathing review.
It would be hard to argue with the Dutchman. Instead of solving the regular farces we've seen during wet races, making a usable rain tire, and taking stock of why almost none of the announced rule changes have worked (easier following, easier overtaking, less domination, etc.), they'd rather put on a circus show with Formula 1. Will there be ghost fights too?
