Exciting moments await the Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend, especially from a Japanese perspective. Indeed, local fans will not only see Yuki Tsunoda take to the track.
Another young driver will also get his chance, namely Ryo Hirakawa, the Toyota WEC driver, who will be able to make the 2025 Alpine dance. Hirakawa will take Jack Doohan's place in the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, and he will not be a complete stranger to driving a Formula 1 car, having already gained experience last year in Abu Dhabi with Oscar Piastri's McLaren.
“I’m extremely excited and looking forward to driving the A525 in the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix. 18 years ago, in 2007, I watched the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji, and soon I’ll be able to personally experience the feeling of driving in front of my passionate compatriots. It will be a dream come true, I’m looking forward to it!” said Hirakawa.
