Lando Norris dominated the afternoon sprint race on Saturday at the Qatar Grand Prix, but relinquished victory to his teammate Oscar Piastri on the final lap.
Both McLarens got off to a great start, and Lando Norris quickly pulled away from the pack. It was interesting to see Max Verstappen's struggles in the back laps; the new world champion couldn't overtake Pierre Gasly until the fourth lap. He only managed to do so on the eighth lap, which is unusual for him. Speaking of Red Bull Racing, it's also worth mentioning Sergio Perez's "performance," as he couldn't even overtake Franco Colapinto, who had started from the pits (the Argentinian did it right away) and was in 19th place. It's worth noting that the fact that someone has made it this far as a Formula 1 driver and a member of the Red Bull team is slowly approaching the realm of the incredible. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, after a spectacular battle with Lewis Hamilton, climbed to fifth place, so we could see a McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari motif. In the end, it didn't change, except that on the last lap Lando Norris handed over the victory to Oscar Piastri, while George Russell also managed to get onto the podium behind them.
