Did you know that a pilot who misses a departure procedure is fined X amount, while another who swears is fined double? Pilots are collectively fed up with this within their advocacy organization!
The International Motor Sport Federation has recently gone overboard with its absurdities, which has not only frustrated fans. The drivers' association, led by George Russell, has sent an open letter to the FIA president:
“We are professional drivers competing in Formula 1, the pinnacle of international motorsport. We are gladiators, and every race weekend we put on a special show for the fans. When it comes to obscene language, there is a huge difference between wanting to hurt someone and, for example, using inappropriate words about the weather, or making an inappropriate remark about our inanimate car, or about a racing situation.
"That is why we call on FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem to consider his tone and language when speaking about us or with us, whether in a private conversation or in a public forum. We are adults who do not need to be instructed by the media, especially not on such trivial matters as what we should say, or what we should wear, or not wear..." - Russell and his colleagues harshly retorted.
