Schumacher: "I know Verstappen will leave"

Schumacher : « Je sais que Verstappen va partir »

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Ralf Schumacher is convinced that Max Verstappen will no longer race for Red Bull Racing next year, and he stands by his opinion even though he is being sued for it.

The reason is not Red Bull's weakness this year, you have to dig much deeper to understand what the German is saying:

"It's quite clear that Max Verstappen will only stay at Red Bull temporarily. It's not because of the car's weakness, but the new engine project has disrupted the relationship between driver and team. And then there are the power struggles... However, Mercedes and Aston Martin, which collaborates with Honda, could be familiar destinations for Max. There, he knows what to expect. Meanwhile, at Red Bull, other difficulties will arise, for example with the engine electronics, and the gradual erosion of the team. The tension between Christian Horner and Helmut Marko is constant; it doesn't lead to anything good, even a blind man can see that. That's what Max Verstappen hates, and he runs away from it. That's how it is, even if Horner sues me for my opinion."

Currently, Toto Wolff is also interested in him, as he almost lost Verstappen, which turned out to be a huge mistake. But Max isn't going to Mercedes; he'll be going to Aston Martin. Either Fernando Alonso or Lance Stroll are expected to leave early to make room for him, but the Greens will find a solution.
