New slap for Hamilton: "His pace is zero..."

Nouvelle claque pour Hamilton : "Son rythme est nul..."

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

This time, Giedo van der Garde offered some unflattering words to the struggling seven-time world champion, who warned: there is very little he produces compared to Charles Leclerc.

But there's an even bigger problem, according to the Dutchman, namely that Lewis Hamilton seems to be losing all confidence in himself. This will push him even further down the slope:

“In Jeddah, we saw the same thing as before. He had no speed, zero. Leclerc was taking one to two seconds per lap off him, and then he was flagged 30 seconds behind. I think he doesn't even really know where the front is anymore; he's in real trouble. His gap is too great, and it looks more and more like he won't be able to overcome this burden on his own. Also, his self-confidence also seems to be plummeting, which is totally unusual for him...

These are very bad signs for the rest of the season. He's a driver who needs confidence and faith in the car, and those two things don't seem to be there at all. I don't think he'll be able to resolve this situation... As I said, if you get 30 seconds from your teammate, it's very demoralizing. Apart from the sprint qualifying in China, he's finished behind Leclerc every time, and by a considerable margin. Leclerc has snuck into his lead, and he's not going to leave anytime soon," concluded Giedo van der Garde.
