These days, many people are "analyzing" Liam Lawson's poor performance at the start of the season in different ways. However, former team principal Giancarlo Minardi doesn't share the general opinion. According to him, Lawson is not responsible for his performance.
Rather, it's Max Verstappen who, in addition to his undeniable successes, has made Red Bull Racing too centralized. Verstappen is the center, everything rests on him, which makes the situation very difficult:
"At Red Bull, it's not the problems that most people think about or talk about that cause a driver's weakness. As Verstappen's teammate, everyone starts with a huge handicap, and it's not because the Dutchman is so incredibly good. It's more the fact that everything, down to the last screw, is adjusted and configured for him, and that's what has caused all his teammates to suffer so far. And Liam Lawson can't cope with that either. He simply shouldn't be allowed to do that in an optimal situation, but because of his successes, Max already has such influence that he can easily achieve that for himself," the veteran Italian defended the young Lawson.
