The 2025 racing season hasn't even started yet, but George Russell could already be the first to do something. He's likely to be the one the FIA makes an example of with its new swearing regulations.
The Mercedes driver made a comment on the first day of testing in Bahrain, where he told streaming platform Viaplay about the power outage that disrupted the day: "Oh shit, the lights went out."
He thus found himself in the crosshairs of the new regulations, which examine whether he caused moral harm to the FIA, the organization's reputation, its members, its leaders, and universal motorsport in general. What a joke! If the charge is upheld, Russell's little blunder will cost him €40,000. If he continues to swear on other occasions, that could even climb to €120,000, followed by penalty points and a suspension of up to one month. On this basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen don't even need to start 2025...
