McLaren said: "This season will not be about Verstappen!"

McLaren a déclaré : « Cette saison ne sera pas consacrée à Verstappen ! »

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

As a first step, they sent their 2025 car, the MCL39, onto the track without any prior announcement. According to the team and its data, it could be a contender for the throne, and the momentum of recent years is expected to continue.

The numbers therefore indicate progress, and the team's drivers promise that this year, they will be the ones making the headlines, and that the press will be full of them... Not Max Verstappen.

“I don’t think 2025 will be Max’s year. I think there will be a lot of us there. He’s still the rider to beat, having won the last four world championships, but that advantage isn’t as clear anymore.
"We are approaching this season with more confidence than ever, and we have high expectations of ourselves. We usually tend to start the year slowly, but we believe this trend will reverse. This way, we will have a much better chance of getting into the fight for the championship. We don't want to be the pursuers, but the pursued!" - said Lando Norris.

“It will be extremely close, much more competitive than last year. That’s what I expect from 2025! Scuderia Ferrari already showed serious strength at the end of last season, and Mercedes also had some strong moments. Naturally, the main contender remains Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, but we will be there and we will make things very difficult for him!” – Oscar Piastri gave an insight into the plans.
