While all the Formula 1 portals are wagging their tails this week as Lewis Hamilton's FAN SITE, Helmut Marko has come again, seen it and said a word!
According to the wise old man at Red Bull Racing, it is crystal clear that in the current F1 field, Max Verstappen is by far the best, Lewis Hamilton is far behind:
“Let’s look at 2024. Our car wasn’t suited to winning on several occasions, and that’s when Max brought that extra something that was necessary for success. He became world champion simply because he’s able to find 0.1-0.2 tenths of a second every lap in places where no one else could. Yes, even Lewis Hamilton! He may still be fast, but will he be able to keep pace with Max throughout a full season? I doubt it. If he gets a great Ferrari and we can only give Max an average Red Bull, he’ll still be the winner between the two. So Max Verstappen will do his job, now it’s up to us to give him a car that can win not just occasionally, but consistently.”
"Unfortunately, it didn't work out last season. There were times when we were the fastest, and then a week later, there was nothing left of that pace. We need to expand the car's operating range, that's what we're working on," Helmut Marko gave an insight into his long-term plans.
