Leclerc: Penalty, food poisoning, bad start in Abu Dhabi

Leclerc : Pénalité, intoxication alimentaire, mauvais départ à Abu Dhabi

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The weekend got off to a bad start for Scuderia Ferrari at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where the Reds are fighting for nothing less than the constructors' world championship title.

In this race, they have already found themselves in difficulty, and doubly so... While the driver suffered food poisoning at the drivers' end-of-season dinner, his car's battery also died. However, things had started well, as Charles Leclerc was able to take to the track at the same time as his brother, Arthur:

“It all started last night when I got food poisoning. I didn't sleep all night, I was terribly tired, I couldn't think about anything else except when I would finally be able to go to bed. The day started off very badly... I didn't really feel like getting in the car, but I'm very motivated, we can drive with Arthur together. It's a dream come true, for which our whole family traveled here, so I couldn't miss it for that reason.

When it became clear that we were having problems with the battery and that it needed to be replaced, a lot of things went through my mind. First, that I could lose the opportunity to be on the track with my brother during a Formula 1 weekend. Then there is the Constructors' Championship... We have to start from ten places back, the weekend has become much more difficult. But overall, I am seeing it as a challenge! I feel a little better, I will sleep well tonight and I will come back with recharged batteries. What we need is a great tomorrow and an incredible Sunday! " said the unlucky Charles Leclerc.
