Should Italian police be concerned about Hamilton's test?

La police italienne peut-elle s'inquiéter du test de Hamilton ?

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

An unprecedented number of visitors is "expected" at Fiorano for Lewis Hamilton's first test with Ferrari. One journalist is concerned, saying the situation poses a serious safety risk...

Journalist Roberto Chinchero stated in an F1 podcast that we should prepare for incredible crowd scenes in Maranello and Fiorano. Chinchero is probably not talking nonsense; as a local, he is well aware of the temperament of the Tifosi and, in general, the Italian people. He is not alone in his concerns:

“Scuderia Ferrari fans in Italy are eagerly awaiting the moment Lewis Hamilton gets into a red car. In fact, I can't even imagine what awaits us in Maranello and Fiorano. There will be an incredible amount of people on the streets, which poses a certain security risk. The local police are not at ease, which I can completely understand; they will have their work cut out for them. Of course, none of this is surprising; the media have contributed a lot to this, and not just the car/motorsport magazines.

The mainstream is constantly preoccupied with Hamilton, which has exacerbated the already considerable interest... - said Chinchero.
