Circus-like revelry, droid tracks, ineffective rule changes, and less and less excitement. That's what everyone sees in 2024, except those who cheer for Red Bull Racing. The bigger problem is that it's what a large portion of the industry sees, too.
Eddie Jordan sees it exactly the same way, he who, in addition to traditions, sorely misses the noisy engines that make the sport so good. He's not the only one:
“My God! When you were in a race, say at Silverstone, and the field was going off with V10 engines... It was incredible, you felt like the ground was going to open up beneath your feet. There was incredible force and momentum, the fans loved it, everyone was crazy about it, and they could do it, but they don't want to bring it back. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with the drivers, I respect them enormously, but these cars today... They're not even racing cars, more like tractors!
"Monsters of tons, with enormous weight, a real shame in the history of Formula 1. And besides, it's a huge shame for those who set the rules, and humiliating for those whose DNA is linked to F1. I hate these people for what they have done to this magnificent sport!" - said Jordan, expressing his damning opinion on the FIA Liberty production. It may seem like a commonplace, but we cannot contradict the old one.
