Jordan: "It was suicide to replace Sainz with Hamilton..."

Jordan : « C'était un suicide de remplacer Sainz par Hamilton... »

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

As we get closer to the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season, more and more people are expressing the opinion that Scuderia Ferrari made a huge mistake in signing Lewis Hamilton.

For example, Eddie Jordan recently spoke out, harshly criticizing Ferrari's management in a podcast:

“I have a message for John Elkann, the group president: What the hell was he thinking when he fired Carlos Sainz, with whom Scuderia Ferrari formed a friendly, predictable, well-structured, and developing team? The drivers got along very well, Frederic Vasseur's work was starting to bear fruit, finally having the opportunity to achieve real success with the Italians after so long. Now he must start thinking about a total reorganization, because he has to integrate a new member into the team, with his ego and all the other consequences...

"Don't get me wrong, Lewis Hamilton is a very nice person, one of the best guys in the F1 paddock, the problem is not with him. The problem starts when Elkann dismantled a perfectly functioning unit, it was suicide to allow all this, to have been able to fire Carlos..." - said Jordan.
