Lewis Hamilton has made it clear that he has not come to Maranello to retire, but on the contrary: he wants to be the man with whom Scuderia Ferrari will be world champion for the first time since 2007.
If anyone has experience turning a team that has seen better days into a champion, it's the Briton. He wants to put that experience to good use, and if he succeeds, he won't be retiring. Quite the opposite!
“A world championship title with Scuderia Ferrari would not be my eighth, but rather my first. Yes, I want to win a championship title with Ferrari; for Ferrari, that’s what I’m currently working on. At the moment, I absolutely don’t think it could be my eighth, which would break all records, but I’m chasing this dream as if it were my first. Although the team has already won many titles, it’s been a while since they succeeded, I feel like I have a mission to help them achieve this. I am and will be focused on winning; all my thoughts are on how I can be the most useful possible to achieve our goal. If I succeed and win another world championship title, I will certainly not retire. I couldn’t imagine stopping…” said Lewis Hamilton.
Fasten your seatbelts, the ninth is coming?
