Lewis Hamilton believes that after four races he has finally found harmony with his car, from now on everything will be different and the results will come.
The seven-time world champion's difficulties with the red racing car can also be attributed to the fact that he has not yet completely "let go" of Mercedes in his head, as well as to the habits he has acquired there:
“It has now become clear to me that we can really get stuck in our own ways. I drove a car for one team for a very long time, and now I'm sitting in a new car that requires a completely different driving style and set-up.
For example, there's the engine brake, which works completely differently. The brakes also work differently. I used a different type than at Scuderia Ferrari. Here, we use Brembos, whereas at Mercedes, I've driven with Carbone Industrie for the last 15 years. This car demands a completely different driving style from me, so I have to adapt. And that's what I'm doing, I'm adapting, and I think I'm starting to get a feel for how to drive this machine.
Charles Leclerc, for example, finishes weekends with just one setup, while I try one setup after another, and I'm already at a serious disadvantage. That's why my performance is inconsistent, I just need to do my job better, and I'm going to do it. Right now, I'm making everything difficult for myself, but in the next race, I'll try to start from a fresh start, start with one setup and stick to it. I think I've figured out what it takes to be competitive, and if I apply it, I'll qualify better, and if I qualify better, I'll have a much better weekend! - Lewis Hamilton said positively.
