The sprint race continued with the United States Grand Prix, which took place on the night of Friday to Saturday, where Max Verstappen proved to be the fastest.
We witnessed a 12-minute non-stop lap during SQ1, during which the drivers constantly swapped the lead. Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Lewis Hamilton, and others took turns. Ultimately, Charles Leclerc won this stage, ahead of the aforementioned Hamilton and Verstappen, while among the eliminated drivers, to everyone's surprise, were Oscar Piastri, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon, and, as usual, the two Alfa Romeos.
The picture didn't change much in SQ2: Ferrari finished first, this time Carlos Sainz being the fastest, followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. Among the eliminated drivers, two names were particularly noteworthy: Sergio Pérez and Liam Lawson. While the former struggled with a pitiful performance in a car capable of winning a world championship, the latter, after numerous absences, managed to maintain this level with a VISA RB... And besides, the two Aston Martins and Pierre Gasly also said their goodbyes.
In SQ3, it looked for a long time like George Russell might win, with only his teammate Hamilton or one of the Ferraris able to threaten him. Ultimately, that wasn't the case, as Max Verstappen found some extra time and won the sprint ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc!
