Loic Serra has joined Scuderia Ferrari, and it's expected that this will soon have tangible and visible results. The Ferrari code 677 will be a completely new build, and in theory, it should be much more powerful in terms of single-lap performance.
Serra has extensive experience in vehicle dynamics, which he is working to translate into the red 2025 model. It is said that the main components that will change are the suspension, the torsion bars, and the dampers, with the aim of ensuring that the 677 is able to get the most out of the new Pirelli tires in as wide a range as possible. This will reduce overheating and allow for better tire management to achieve more powerful laps. That's the goal.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, performed well on the tires in races, but during qualifying, drivers often struggled with grip and warming up. This often resulted in Scuderia Ferrari only being able to start from the back of positions normally achievable through power, and it is this dilemma that the team led by Loic Serra has now focused on. The changes to the 677's design are aimed at rewriting Ferrari's fundamental behavior, and the first signs of this should already be visible during the first test at Fiorano, scheduled for February 19.
