Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has harshly criticized Lewis Hamilton. According to Ecclestone, it is not wise for Hamilton to stay in Italy for a long time.
This may have "some connection" with Scuderia Ferrari's traditions; Maranello isn't necessarily the place where people will be ecstatic about Hamilton's actions, which evoke ridiculous celebrities. According to Ecclestone, this doesn't strengthen the Briton's position either:
"His contract runs until 2026, but he won't fulfill it. Piero Ferrari brought him there, and he thinks he did the right thing for the team. I hope he doesn't regret his decision. I hope people don't say they wish they hadn't done it... One thing is age, another is competitiveness. I think Lewis is already tired, he's not as motivated as before. If he didn't already have a world championship title, maybe the situation would be different, that would have motivated him. But he already has seven. The other root of the problem lies in his behavior.
He's certainly done a lot of things that might explain why some people don't like him. I don't understand why someone has to dress like that as a world champion and a millionaire, I don't like it at all, it's not appropriate. I don't understand why he keeps doing this nonsense... He's obviously a talented driver, but he's very overrated," Ecclestone harshly criticized Hamilton.
