Lewis Hamilton could face very difficult times ahead, according to Johnny Herbert, as he hasn't faced such a challenge within his team since Fernando Alonso.
A team defeat to George Russell - this is the baggage Hamilton brings to Scuderia Ferrari, but Charles Leclerc is in great form. He also has considerable experience in battles against multiple world champions, having notably retired a certain Sebastian Vettel... Herbert believes that, given his past, the Briton won't necessarily be the winner.
“No one should expect Charles to hold back. Remember that Sebastian Vettel, as a four-time world champion, signed with Ferrari, and then Charles arrived and simply pushed him aside. He won't be intimidated by Lewis Hamilton—quite the opposite! He will be respectful, but also aware. He knows Hamilton will be a serious opponent, but from the very first meters, he will do everything to get the best out of him.”
"Leclerc has invested a lot for 2024, this new challenge will put him at a level that he and Ferrari will need if they want to achieve their goals," Herbert said enigmatically.
