Former F1 driver and Sky F1 contributor Martin Brundle believes what we're seeing now is the calm before the storm. After that, there's war!
The first race of the season was won by Lando Norris, the second by Oscar Piastri. Both cars are very fast, both drivers are very determined, which could still cause problems, even internally. According to Brundle, quite a few problems...
"Norris may have a one-point lead over Verstappen since last race, but I think it would be much wiser to look for his real rival further back. The gap to Piastri is only ten points, and now it's Suzuka, where McLaren has always performed well. I expect a close fight...
Norris was unlucky in China, he had brake problems, but I suspect that if everything had been in order, he could have been right on Piastri's neck. This would also have reshaped the podium and race results. In Japan, we will find out how they compete, but I think it will be just the first act in a brutal and deadly battle that will last all season," Martin Brundle predicted a major battle, if not a war.
