(Not so) Surprising statement from McLaren boss: Zak Brown believes Max Verstappen is spending his final year at Red Bull Racing. Lando Norris's boss also made a surprising prediction...
Indeed, according to Brown, Verstappen will not build a new career at the much-discussed Aston Martin, but at another team:
“I think this will be his last season at Red Bull, and I'd also bet where he'll continue: at Mercedes! I know a lot of people are also talking a lot about Aston Martin, especially since Adrian Newey was recruited there. But Adrian will take time to build the organizational culture and team that will allow him to join the title contenders. Max doesn't like to wait... That's why I think Mercedes will be the winning choice for him. And in fact, it would be a completely logical step. Mercedes is the most successful team of the last decade, which struggled last year, but still won four races and is on an upward slope. They are well prepared for the 2026 regulation changes, we know that Toto Wolff is also intensely interested in Max, and what's more, the contracts of both their drivers are expiring...” - teased Verstappen bombshell Zak Brown.
