Qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is coming up soon, and one of its contenders could be Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes.
That is, we in the editorial office consider him one of the candidates, but the former teammate and world champion has a completely different view of the matter. According to Jenson Button, Hamilton is simply too old and slow for qualifying! This is a rather harsh statement, but not without foundation. So far, only one person and only once has managed to beat the seven-time world champion in the qualifying standings, and that was Nico Rosberg. In 2014, the standings were 12-7 in favor of Rosberg, but this season, Hamilton, who next year will be a Ferrari driver, is receiving a much harsher beating from George Russell:
"Lewis is almost 40, maybe that's why he crashed in qualifying. No matter how high he performs, no matter how good his reflexes are, he can't compete with the young guys anymore. He's too old for that, he can't keep up with them over a lap, and it's probably very difficult for him to accept that his opponents are not only faster and fresher, but also consistent," Button said with brutal honesty about his former rival.

Has he really aged? The truth will be revealed soon...
