These days, there's been increasing talk of Max Verstappen switching teams. Due to Red Bull's struggles, Fernando Alonso also has his say on the driver, who is often linked to Aston Martin.
The Spanish veteran might even fear for his position against the current world champion, but Alonso wouldn't be Alonso if he thought like that...
"I'm not worried about my position; I have an active contract until 2025. However, I see these rumors as a very encouraging sign, both for me and for the team. The fact that the world champion is often associated with us, alongside Mercedes and Ferrari, shows the quality of the project we're working on and the future that awaits Aston Martin.
"I'll stay on the track as long as I consider myself fast and competitive enough, and of course as long as the team needs me. However, my commitment is long-term; I'll be here for many more years, but perhaps in a different position. If that means we don't win the world championship with me at the wheel, I'll still be very proud. And of course, if that were to come up, I'd gladly accept Max Verstappen as my teammate..." - reflected the legend.
