Alonso: "I always had worse options than others"

Alonso : « J'ai toujours eu des options moins bonnes que les autres »

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Fernando Alonso believes that his entire career has been marked by injustice, according to which he has always driven cars that are less efficient than his competitors.

A Spanish television station made a documentary about Alonso, in which the two-time world champion spoke about how he had always been technically disadvantaged. From his childhood...

"I remember that when I started karting as a child, I always only had one set of tires. In Asturias, it rained very often, and in those cases, other children would put on rain tires, but I couldn't because we didn't have the money for it.
That hasn't changed in Formula 1. Here, I already get rain tires, but, for example, I don't have Ferrari's wing or McLaren's floor. After all, that's what my whole life, my whole career, has been about: I had to fight with less effective weapons and adapt better than everyone else... That hasn't changed, just like my thirst for success.

"If I go to a karting track these days and see that the best are one or one and a half seconds faster than me, I'm just as angry, I'll be just as frustrated as when I can't have dinner in the evening. I hate losing, it's what keeps me alive!" - the Aston Martin star mused.
