So Verstappen can already be WORLD CHAMPION in Las Vegas.

Ainsi, Verstappen peut déjà être CHAMPION DU MONDE à Las Vegas.

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The bottom line, and most importantly, is that if Max Verstappen wins his next race, there's no question he's the world champion. If that doesn't work out, there could still be a coronation ceremony in Las Vegas, or perhaps Lando Norris will avoid it...

We show you how:

If Verstappen finishes second, Norris absolutely must win to keep a mathematical chance.

If Verstappen finishes third, Norris must finish second at the very least. However, if the Red Bull driver manages to set the fastest lap, it would still guarantee him the title.

If Verstappen finishes fourth, Norris needs at least a third-place finish to keep his hopes alive. If the Dutchman finishes fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, or ninth, Norris must finish at least two positions ahead of him. If Norris sets the fastest lap of the race, he only needs to finish one place ahead of him to (theoretically) stay in the race. If Verstappen finishes tenth, Norris must be in the top eight. Finally, if Verstappen doesn't score any points, Norris must finish at least ninth, with the fastest lap as a bonus, of course.
Have we ever said we hate math?
